Malloy and Eggleston are state bound

The mission continues.

After battling through one of the toughest meets in the country at the CIF-SS Masters Championships, LEAP Squad athletes Dane Malloy and Colton Eggleston officially punched their tickets to the California State Championships at Buchanan High School this Friday and Saturday.

Dane Malloy delivered a huge performance on one of the biggest stages of the season, finishing second overall in both the long jump and triple jump. Dane jumped 20'10.5" in the long jump and 47'2.25" in the triple jump to secure his spot among California’s elite.

“I’m super excited I got through the Masters Championships,” Dane said. “I was super nervous, but now I’m ready to fly at the State Championships.”

Colton Eggleston also stepped up when it mattered most, finishing sixth overall in the long jump with a huge mark of 22'6.5" to qualify for the State Championships.

“I’m very proud of myself and looking forward to improving in the final days leading up to the State Championships,” Colton shared.

For both athletes, this moment represents years of work, trust in the process, and competing through pressure-filled moments against some of the best athletes in California.

Now, the stage gets even bigger.

Buchanan High School awaits.
