Long Jump & Triple Jump

Somebody has to
watch you jump.

For more than twenty years I've coached long and triple jumpers — in person, on film, and through a system that has put athletes on college runways. Everything I teach lives here.

The Development Path

Three steps, in this order.

Most jumpers skip to the end and wonder why nothing moves. Start where you are. Each one earns the next.

Step One

$47

The Film Room

Send one video of your jump. Within three business days I send back a breakdown naming the three things costing you distance — and the number I think you're actually capable of right now.

Send Your Jump

Step Two

$197

Jump 101

The whole system, laid out so you can run it yourself. Approach, takeoff, the phases, and the six-week block that actually produces a PR. Over 350 jumpers have worked through it.

Step Three

Jump Lab Academy

Me on your jumps every week for twelve months. Film review, a recruiting plan built on negotiation rather than exposure, and a year-round structure that stops the injuries.

Book the Conversation

Not sure where you belong? The Film Room answers that in three days for forty-seven dollars.

Athletes I've Coached

What it looks like when somebody is actually watching.

43' → 47'9"

Tola Spencer — Whitney High School

Worked the system on his own and got himself to 45 feet. Then twelve months of weekly film took him to 47'9" and a Division I scholarship.

45'4" → 49'11"

Dane

Four and a half feet in the triple jump through Jump Lab Academy.

14' → 18'

Skylar — long jump, through the Academy

USC or Oregon

Dami — ended up choosing between them

Full ride

Khristina Parker — full scholarship

At Mater Dei (2012–2019) my jumpers won five individual CIF titles and three runner-up finishes. In 2023 my athletes placed 3rd, 4th and 6th in the triple jump at CIF State.

The Book

LEAP Mentality

Success in sport begins long before competition. This isn't a book about jumping farther — it's about becoming the kind of person who can perform at their highest level, in sport and in life.

Written for athletes, parents and coaches who care about confidence, identity, pressure and long-term development.

For Parents

You don't have to become the second coach.

Most parents of jumpers are guessing just as hard as their athlete is — about technique, about recruiting, about how much to push. The book is where to start, and the Film Room will tell you both exactly where your jumper stands.

LEAP Fest

A jumps-only showcase at Mater Dei. Long jump, triple jump, high jump and pole vault — one day, nothing else on the schedule, every athlete actually seen.

Entries are open now at $30 per event. The price rises December 1.

In Person — Southern California

LEAP Squad Track Club

The in-person team, founded in 2012 and still running. Jumpers who train with me directly, week in and week out, through the full competitive year.

Roster space is limited and the season is planned in advance.

Speaking & Consulting

For schools, clubs and conferences.

I partner with athletic departments, clubs and organizations to help modernize the student-athlete experience — keynotes, coach education, parent workshops and organizational consulting.

Keynotes

Athlete and team assemblies, banquets, conference sessions.

Coach education

Jumps technique and season design for staff who inherited the event.

Parent workshops

Recruiting reality, pressure, and the long view.

Consulting

Development systems and culture for programs and organizations.

More Than Coaching

For decades youth sports have chased performance and overlooked the athlete.

I believe we can have both. High-level performance and healthy development. Elite competition and strong character. Athletic success and life success.

Everything I build is designed to help athletes, parents and coaches create environments where young people thrive — not just on the runway, but long after the last meet.
